+ Can you really secure furniture to the wall without using screws?

Yes, recognizing that nobody wants to drill holes in their walls or furniture, we designed our Zero-Screw Furniture Anti Tip Kit to be installed completely without screws. The attachment to the furniture is a small half circle disc with adhesive that goes on top of the furniture, while the attachment to the wall uses two of our patented SecureHooks that you simply push right through the drywall in between studs to secure the wall bracket. This only creates nail size holes similar to hanging a picture. Alternatively, you can also use screws to attach the strap to the back of the furniture and/or into studs on your wall if you prefer.

+ How often does furniture or TVs tip over?

Based on statistics from the CPSC, a child in the US is injured every 43 minutes from a furniture or TV tip-over incident, and sadly, there are around 25 fatalities each year. Thankfully, these numbers are going down and these injuries are completely preventable by simply securing all furniture and TVs to the walls.

+ Can a child really tip over a big heavy dresser?

Yes, they can and it happens very quickly. In most cases they want to reach something in a top drawer or on top of the dresser, they pull out the lower drawers and use them as a ladder to climb up. With multiple drawers open and a child climbing on them the center of gravity changes dramatically and even a heavy dresser becomes unstable and can fall over. Please don’t think this only happens to other children as your own children are so well behaved. All children are curious by nature and will test what is possible when you least expect it. Lots of accidents happen after nap time when parents think their child is still sleeping.

+ Is it enough to secure only the furniture in the nursery?

No. That is not enough. A curious child will go into the living room, master bedroom, and other rooms when you least expect it and an accident can happen very quickly.

+ How strong is the Zero-Screw Furniture Anti-Tip Kit when installed without screws?

In a simulation of a dresser with the top drawer pulled all the way out and 200 lbs. of weight hanging from the drawer front, the dresser did not tip over. This corresponds to the weight of more than two 5 year olds, of the 95th % in weight (69 lbs. each), climbing on the dresser at the same time, which would represent a worst-case scenario.

+ How many pieces of furniture will a package secure?

The package contains one kit with two straps which secures one piece of furniture.

+ Do these require drilling into the wall for installation?

No, there is no need to drill into the wall if you use our patented SecureHooks to install into the drywall as they only make a nail size hole.

+ How do you tighten the straps after you install them?

You simply pull the straps upward until the slack is gone and the cam lock automatically secures the strap. We also provide a cover for the cam lock to make the installation neat and clean.

+ What is the length and width of the straps and how strong are they?

Each long-lasting Nylon strap is 23” long and 1” wide and holds over 200 lbs. This is much stronger than the cheap “zip-tie” anti-tip kits that sometimes come with furniture.

+ What material are the brackets made out of?

They are made from one of the strongest engineered plastic materials available called POM, so it will definitely hold up to any tipping force on the furniture.

+ Can these be reused if the furniture is moved?

The wall bracket can always be reused, simply pull out the SecureHooks or unscrew the screws. If the adhesive disc has been used to attach to the furniture it cannot be reused as the adhesive is only meant for a single use. However, there is always the option of removing the disc and instead, install the cam lock with screws into the furniture in a new location.

+ How can I clean behind the furniture?

You can release the tension in the strap by releasing the strap through the cam lock. This will then allow you to move furniture away from the wall to clean.

+ Can I use this on my plaster wall?

Our Zero-Screw Furniture Anti-Tip Kit was designed for use on drywall only BUT, you can still anchor it to a plaster wall if you can find a stud in the wall to screw into.

+ Can I use this on shelving units in my garage that have heavy or dangerous items on it?

Yes, our Zero-Screw Furniture Anti-Tip Kit would be perfect for this use.
