Each Qdos Universal Baseboard Adapter is designed for one baseboard, for situations where there is a baseboard on one side and a banister on the other. If you have baseboard on both sides, you will need to purchase two Universal Baseboard Adapters.

+ Why would I need a Baseboard Kit?
The Baseboard Kit is used in situations where there is baseboard present that would cause the baby gate to be mounted at an angle on the wall. Baby gates must be mounted vertically in order for the gate to operate properly. Our Universal Baseboard Kit will give you an even and vertical mounting surface for your baby gate.
+ What is the maximum size baseboard I can use with the Universal Baseboard Kit?
Our Universal Baseboard Kit will work with baseboards up to 7” tall and up to 7/8” thick.
+ Can I use this at the top of the stairs?
Yes, as long as all the other requirements for mounting your baby gate are met, our Universal Baseboard Kit is suitable for use at the top of stairs. Remember Qdos recommends never using a pressure mount baby gate at the top of the stairs due to the inherent trip hazard.
+ Can the Universal Baseboard Kit work with any brand baby gate?
Yes, our Universal Baseboard Kit can be used with most brands of baby gates. The maximum installation height for a gate is 34", meaning the top of the mounting bracket for the gate can't be above that point.
+ Can I install the Universal Baseboard Kit into a hollow wall like drywall?
No, our Universal Baseboard Kit can only be installed into solid wood like a door frame or a stud behind the drywall. If you need to install a baby gate into drywall or any kind of hollow wall other than solid wood, you will need to consult a childproofing expert, a handyman or check with your local hardware store.
+ What is the maximum baby gate installation height for the Universal Baseboard Kit?
Our Universal Baseboard Kit can be used for gate installation height up to 34” tall. This means the top of the mounting bracket for the gate can't be above that point.
+ If I have baseboard present on both sides of the wall, can I use the Universal Baseboard Kit on both sides?
Yes, it is perfectly fine to use our Universal Baseboard Kits on both walls to create a plumb vertical surface to mount your baby gate.
+ Can I use the Universal Baseboard Kit to mount a baby gate to a stair bannister so I don’t have to screw into the wood?
No, for that situation, you will want the Qdos Universal Stair Mounting Kit which allows you to mount a baby gate onto a round or square bannister without having to drill into your woodwork.
